The Sewing Operator & Sample/Pattern Maker student will be introduced to the skills needed to succeed in a dressmaking career. Students will learn how to draft a basic pattern, cut and assemble the garment using different industrial sewing machines, including single needle, overlock, blind stitch, button-hole and cover stitch machines to select the right material for a project. Students will finish garments and alter patterns, mark, cut, and tack fabric for a proper fit.
The ATC program prepares the graduate to obtain entry-level position as dressmaker, sample maker, sample cutter, quality control, alteration’s business, sewing machine operator.
